Hi,
Role: Hardware Tester
Location: Plymouth Meeting, PA (5 days a week Onsite)
Visa Status: /
Duration: 6+ Months
The Implementation and Quality Engineer performs the hands on technical work required to prepare, test, deploy, and validate integrated parking systems. Based at the Pennsylvania home office, this person maintains a production representative test environment, stages and configures equipment, investigates defects, supports field installation, and confirms that each site meets its approved requirements before and after go live.
· Own and maintain the test lab so it reflects current production hardware, firmware, software, network configurations, peripherals, and supported integrations.
· Stage, configure, label, inspect, and quality check equipment before shipment or field installation.
· Configure back end organizations, sites, rate structures, user permissions, device settings, payment workflows, and customer facing interfaces based on approved requirements.
· Create, maintain, and execute repeatable functional, regression, integration, and field validation tests across hardware, firmware, applications, networks, and cloud connected services.
· Maintain traceability between requirements, configurations, test cases, defects, fixes, release documentation, and acceptance results.
· Reproduce field problems in the lab, review logs and system data, isolate hardware, software, configuration, integration, or network causes, and document findings for engineering.
· Log and manage defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, business impact, severity, environment details, and retest results.
· Provide release risk and readiness findings and coordinate technical signoff with software engineering, quality assurance, implementation, and product stakeholders.
· Support installation, commissioning, and go live work on site and remotely, including connectivity troubleshooting between site hardware, local networks, and back end or cloud systems.
· Perform post installation testing against site requirements and provide technical direction to third party installers when work does not meet specifications.
· Monitor deployed systems, investigate recurring issues, and support Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalations with customer success and engineering teams.
· Maintain accurate configuration records, test results, defect evidence, equipment records, and as built documentation for each deployment.
· Two to five or more years in implementation engineering, systems integration, quality assurance, field engineering, process engineering, or advanced technical support.
· Hands on experience configuring and testing customer facing hardware and software systems such as parking controls, kiosks, point of sale systems, access control, payment devices, or connected equipment.
· Experience developing or executing structured test plans and documenting defects with repeatable steps and supporting evidence.
· Working knowledge of TCP IP, VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, Wi Fi, device connectivity, and basic network troubleshooting.
· Ability to read logs, use administrative systems, query or inspect system data, and communicate technical findings to software engineers.
· Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with a careful, methodical approach to configuration, testing, and documentation.
· Ability to work on site at the Pennsylvania home office and travel to customer sites up to 20 percent.
· Ability to move and handle equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and work in active installation environments with reasonable accommodation where required.
· Parking Access and Revenue Control Systems, parking guidance, license plate recognition, payment terminals, gate equipment, intercoms, cameras, or access control systems.
· Experience coordinating technical work with offshore or nearshore engineering teams and third party installation contractors.
· Scripting, database queries, API testing, remote monitoring, test management platforms, or automated test tools.
· Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands on experience.
· Equipment arrives at installation sites complete, correctly configured, tested, and ready to commission.
· Defects include enough technical evidence for engineering teams to reproduce, correct, and verify the problem.
· Field validation confirms that hardware, software, payments, integrations, networks, and customer workflows meet approved requirements.
· Technical lessons from the lab and the field become repeatable tests, configuration standards, and documentation for future deployments.
Thanks and regards
