Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior UKG Techno-Functional Consultant with deep expertise in UKG Workforce Management to support the optimization, stabilization, and transformation of our workforce-management environment across North America.

This is a senior, hands-on consulting role requiring strong functional, technical, and solution-design capabilities. The consultant must be able to independently assess complex business requirements and existing configurations, design scalable solutions, perform hands-on UKG configuration, troubleshoot complex production issues, and provide expert guidance to HR, Payroll, Operations, HRIS, and technology teams.

The successful candidate will serve as a UKG subject-matter expert and trusted advisor, while remaining hands-on in the platform.

Key Responsibilities

UKG Solution Architecture & Functional Leadership

• Serve as a senior UKG subject-matter expert for Time & Attendance, scheduling, attendance, PTO/accruals, and workforce-management processes.
• Assess existing UKG configurations, processes, and architecture and identify opportunities for simplification, standardization, automation, and improved controls.
• Lead complex requirements and solution-design discussions with HR, Payroll, Operations, and HRIS stakeholders.
• Translate business policies and requirements into scalable UKG functional and technical designs.
• Challenge requirements and existing designs where appropriate and recommend solutions based on UKG capabilities and leading practices.
• Provide expert guidance on complex timekeeping requirements including overtime, premiums, shifts, exceptions, schedules, accruals, and attendance policies.

Hands-On UKG Configuration & Technical Expertise

• Independently perform advanced UKG configuration and solution changes.
• Configure and troubleshoot complex pay rules, work rules, accrual/PTO rules, schedules, attendance rules, profiles, security, and related workforce-management functionality.
• Analyze complex system and production issues, determine root cause, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Review existing configuration for design weaknesses, inconsistencies, and unnecessary customization.
• Support and troubleshoot interfaces between UKG and HRIS, payroll, and other enterprise platforms.
• Partner with integration and technical teams on interface design, data mapping, error handling, and production support.

Implementation & Transformation

• Lead the UKG workstream for implementations, enhancements, optimization initiatives, and new business/location deployments.
• Own UKG solution design from requirements through configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
• Develop functional and technical specifications and configuration documentation.
• Define comprehensive testing strategies covering unit, integration, regression, payroll validation, and UAT.
• Lead cutover, go-live, and post-production stabilization activities.
• Identify risks, dependencies, design decisions, and downstream impacts before changes are implemented.

Production Stabilization & Governance

• Act as the senior escalation point for complex UKG production issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis of recurring defects and recommend permanent corrective actions.
• Establish strong configuration, testing, release, and change-management practices.
• Maintain clear documentation of system design and configuration.
• Mentor internal analysts and help strengthen internal UKG capabilities.
• Work effectively with UKG and third-party vendors while maintaining internal ownership of solution design and quality.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive UKG/Kronos experience, with significant hands-on experience in complex enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in UKG Workforce Management / UKG Pro Workforce Management, with strong knowledge of Time & Attendance and related modules.
• Demonstrated advanced hands-on UKG configuration experience.
• Extensive experience with complex timekeeping, pay rules, overtime, premiums, scheduling, attendance, PTO and accrual configurations.
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end relationship between UKG, HRIS, time management, and payroll.
• Proven experience diagnosing and resolving complex configuration, integration, data, and production issues.
• Experience leading UKG implementations, transformations, upgrades, or major optimization initiatives.
• Ability to independently lead requirements, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
• Strong experience working with senior HR, Payroll, Operations, and technology stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with limited direction.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large, complex, multi-location organizations.
• Experience supporting workforce-management environments across the U.S., Canada, and/or Mexico.
• Experience integrating UKG with SAP, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, and/or SAP Payroll.
• Experience with large-scale time-and-attendance standardization or policy-harmonization programs.
• UKG certifications or equivalent demonstrated expertise strongly preferred.

Profile We Are Looking For

This is not a junior configuration or support role. We are looking for a seasoned UKG professional who can quickly understand a complex environment, identify design and configuration issues, recommend the right solution, and personally drive that solution through implementation.

The successful consultant will combine deep UKG functional knowledge, strong technical/configuration expertise, enterprise solution thinking, and the ability to operate independently as a senior advisor and hands-on practitioner.
