Senior Software Engineer - React Native

Instinct Science is a veterinary technology company developing tools including the AI-powered ScribbleVet platform. The Senior React Native Engineer will own the mobile experience end-to-end by building high-performance React Native and Expo applications, designing AI-assisted clinical workflows, optimizing reliability, and shaping mobile architecture and development practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build high-performance React Native + Expo applications
• Create intuitive, real-time AI-assisted workflows for clinical environments
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers (Elixir + GraphQL) to design efficient data flows
• Improve performance, offline behavior, and reliability under real-world constraints
• Partner with product, design, and veterinarians to rapidly prototype and iterate
• Elevate code quality, testing practices, and mobile architecture standards
• Mentor other engineers and shape scalable mobile development patterns

Requirements:

• Strong (3+ years) production level experience with React Native
• Experience shipping and maintaining production mobile applications
• Deep understanding of mobile performance, state management, and debugging
• Experience integrating APIs
• Ability to operate with high autonomy in a remote environment
• Strong product intuition and communication skills
• Expo experience
• GraphQL
• Experience building AI-assisted or LLM-powered interfaces
• Experience designing mobile workflows involving audio, real-time updates, or complex forms
• Familiarity with Elixir or strong backend collaboration experience
• Early-stage startup experience
• Strong UX/design sensibility
