Electrical Engineer III

Meade is a full-service design firm specializing in engineering solutions for data centers, cloud providers, and large-scale construction projects. The Electrical Engineer III will design electrical systems and perform calculations for data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other construction projects while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves project reviews, equipment specification, site activities, commissioning support, and ensuring projects meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing electrical systems and performing design calculations
• Review, signing and sealing of projects
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, preparation of record drawings, site visits, inspections and participation in commissioning work
• Writing and editing of electrical equipment specifications, selecting equipment, electrical systems and devices
• Ensure jobs are completed accurately, within deadlines and on budget

Requirements:

• 4+ years of Electrical Engineering design experience in the construction industry
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience designing power systems for data centers, commercial offices, manufacturing facilities, medical buildings, or other large commercial projects
• Experience working independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff
• Strong understanding of National and International Building Codes and NFPA Standards
• Advanced knowledge of equipment power requirements, including large scale standby and emergency power system, including interactive generator controls systems
• Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives
• Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to work as a team
• Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM and Revit
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Electrical P.E. license or Engineering in Training certification preferred
• Experienced in producing Protective Device Coordination and Arc Flash studies is preferred
• Experienced with Medium Voltage equipment selection and specifications is preferred
