Business Data Analyst (SQL, Tableau, Splunk, Databricks, Qlik Sense, Looker, GenAI)

We are seeking a hands-on, business-minded Business Data Analyst to evaluate, measure, and communicate the outcomes and performance of strategic enterprise partnerships. Operating at the intersection of analytics, business strategy, and cross-functional execution, this role focuses on turning raw performance metrics into clear business insights and executive-ready narratives for senior leadership.

The analytics capability for these initiatives is in an early, agile phase, making this position ideal for a scrappy analytical professional who excels at iterating rapidly, cobbling together disparate datasets, and using modern generative AI tools to accelerate daily reporting workflows.

<>Key Responsibilities</>

• Executive Storytelling & Insights: Translate strategic partnership goals into structured analytical frameworks, test key business hypotheses, and deliver executive-ready analyses that synthesize quantitative findings into clear recommendations.
• Cross-Functional Relationship Building: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across business development, product, finance, and analytics teams to locate data across systems, define key performance indicators, and navigate metric nuances across different product lines.
• Data Sourcing & Querying: Build, validate, and execute light SQL queries to pull and assemble data from diverse enterprise repositories.
• Generative AI Workflow Integration: Actively leverage generative AI tools (such as Claude, OpenAI Codex, or Cursor) in daily workflows to prototype dashboards, automate recurring reporting, ingest data, and accelerate documentation.
• Dashboarding & Prototyping: Consume and analyze data from platforms like Tableau, Splunk, Databricks, Qlik Sense, and Looker, while maintaining flexibility to present insights through rapid AI prototypes, lightweight web pages (HTML/GitHub Pages), or traditional dashboards.
• Proactive Problem Solving: Identify underlying data trends and independently investigate 2nd and 3rd-level follow-up business questions to surface root causes and strategic opportunities.

<>Requirements & Qualifications</>

• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of post-college experience in business analytics, strategy analytics, product analytics, partnership analytics, or strategy consulting.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL querying and navigating enterprise data repositories.
• Generative AI Fluency: Demonstrated hands-on fluency using generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, Codex, Cursor) within daily analytical workflows to automate tasks and prototype rapidly.
• Business Acumen & Storytelling: Strong "left brain / right brain" balance with a proven track record of converting complex quantitative data into executive-level narratives.
• Data Platform Familiarity: Familiarity with enterprise analytics and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Splunk, Databricks, Qlik Sense, or Looker.
• Mindset: Highly scrappy, resourceful, and collaborative with an "MVP" iterative approach to problem-solving.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Location Requirement: Mandatory on-site attendance 3 days a week at the Mountain View, CA location.

<>Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications</>

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python, R, or other analytical programming languages is a nice-to-have bonus, but not required.
• Domain Experience: Background in SaaS business models or corporate partnership analytics.
• Clarification on Scope: This is a non-data-engineering and non-data-science position; advanced statistical modelling, cluster analysis, and heavy regressions are not required.
