Senior Business Systems Analyst

UT MD Anderson is a cancer center that supports technology and informatics initiatives through enterprise governance and organizational improvements. The Senior Business Systems Analyst oversees portfolio financial management, governance committee operations, data quality, process improvement, and executive-level reporting to support data-driven decision-making and accountability.

Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight of TDI portfolio financials through budget management, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
• Support financial planning processes to ensure alignment with organizational strategies and portfolio objectives
• Ensure portfolio financial activities comply with governance standards and TDI PMO best practices
• Deliver financial insights, risk assessments, and recommendations to governance committees, IT leadership, and business stakeholders
• Educate stakeholders on financial management standards, processes, and governance expectations
• Organize and facilitate Informatics Committee and ITEC meetings and related governance activities
• Ensure governance meetings are supported by accurate, consistent, and governance-ready portfolio data
• Support governance committees through preparation, coordination, and ongoing process management
• Educate users on TDI Governance tools, processes, and best practices
• Recommend and implement continuous improvements to TDI Governance and TDI PMO workflows and processes
• Assist in the development of financial management frameworks, tools, performance metrics, and standards
• Lead implementation efforts that support framework adoption and process consistency
• Oversee data accuracy within reports and dashboards to ensure alignment with TDI PMO best practices
• Drive improvements that enhance portfolio visibility, accountability, and decision-making
• Maintain expertise in TDI PMO platforms, project management methodologies, quality management principles, and business process improvement practices
• Demonstrate strong financial management knowledge and application
• Monitor departmental changes and evaluate impacts on TDI PMO functions
• Provide recommendations for workflow and process enhancements based on organizational needs
• Demonstrate leadership, communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving techniques to governance and portfolio challenges
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve governance, financial management, and portfolio processes
• Implement innovative solutions aligned with TDI PMO guiding principles
• Drive initiatives that create business value and improve operational efficiency
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and process-oriented professional with experience supporting governance frameworks, portfolio financial management, data quality oversight, business analysis, and process improvement initiatives
• The successful candidate demonstrates strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, and is comfortable working with executive leadership while translating complex portfolio data into actionable insights
• Required: Bachelor's Degree
• Required: 5 years Experience in epic software, domain, project management or workflow analysis
• May substitute require education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis
• Preferred: Portfolio Governance & Process Management - Experience managing portfolio governance frameworks, project intake processes, prioritization, and business case reviews
• Data Analysis & Portfolio Reporting - Strong ability to maintain portfolio data quality, analyze project and resource information, and develop executive-level reporting and dashboards
• Stakeholder Management & Communication - Exceptional ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, facilitate governance discussions, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership
