Role: ITAM Analyst III – Software Asset Management (SAM/HAM Hybrid)
Location: Reston, VA

Role Type: Long term temp/full-time hours
Profile: 5+ year ITAM Analyst with Flexara & hardware management, strong critical thinking and communication skills.

• Manage the full Software Asset Management (SAM) lifecycle, including intake, procurement, assignment, renewal, reclamation, retirement, and compliance.
• Maintain accurate software licenses, subscriptions, entitlements, contracts, vendor, ownership, and lifecycle records.
• Perform software license reconciliation, entitlement validation, normalization, and usage analysis.
• Monitor renewals, true-ups, contracts, and licensing obligations to ensure timely action and cost control.
• Identify unused, duplicate, expired, over-provisioned, or non-compliant software and recommend corrective actions.
• Support software reclamation, license reuse, reassignment, application rationalization, and retirement initiatives.
• Analyze SAM data to identify risks, data gaps, compliance issues, shadow IT, and optimization opportunities.
• Support software audits through evidence gathering, reconciliation, exception tracking, and compliance reporting.
• Generate reports on software inventory, utilization, renewals, compliance, entitlements, vendors, and trends.
• Partner with ITAM, Procurement, Finance, Security, Legal, Endpoint, Product, application owners, and vendors.
• Support vendor governance, including contract validation, renewal tracking, SLA reviews, invoice/billing validation, and vendor performance.
• Improve CMDB alignment, software catalog accuracy, asset data quality, and lifecycle governance.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements using SAM tools, SaaS platforms, dashboards, AI, and workflow technologies.
• Provide internal customer support, documentation, SOPs, software request guidance, and cross-functional issue resolution.
• Support Hardware Asset Management at Reston, VA, including inventory, device moves, shipping/receiving, recovery, audits, and occasional off-hours support.
