Contracts Manager - Capital Projects

RavenVolt Inc., an ABM Company, provides turnkey energy solutions and construction management focused on resilient and sustainable energy infrastructure. The Contracts Manager will lead commercial contracting activities for complex electrical infrastructure, energy, and design-build projects from pre-award negotiations through execution and closeout. The role supports contract governance, risk management, change orders, claims, project controls, and coordination across Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Legal.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary commercial contracting resource supporting Sales from receipt of a proposed customer agreement through contract execution
• Coordinate cross-functional reviews and maintain redlines, issue lists, risk summaries, negotiation matrices, decisions, approvals, version control, and a clear audit trail
• Establish owners, track outstanding actions and dependencies, and drive open items toward timely resolution
• Identify and escalate material commercial and operational risks while referring legal interpretations, legal approvals, and material legal matters to Legal
• Support negotiation strategy and customer contract discussions and confirm alignment with the approved scope, pricing, schedule, assumptions, exclusions, clarifications, and supplier commitments
• Facilitate a complete handoff of negotiated obligations, commercial positions, and open commitments to the project execution team
• Establish and continuously improve contract-review processes, workflows, templates, controls, and decision records across the contract lifecycle
• Evaluate and implement contract-management tools and provide concise reporting on cycle time, open risks, approvals, and agreements approaching execution
• Translate executed agreements into concise contract summaries, obligation matrices, and project kickoff requirements
• Provide risk-based post-award contract support, prioritizing strategic, complex, or higher-risk projects and material commercial events while enabling project teams to administer routine obligations consistently
• Partner with Project Managers to identify changes, delays, directives, differing conditions, and other entitlement events; support timely notices and change-order documentation
• Monitor pending or unapproved changes and escalate material commercial exposure before significant out-of-scope work proceeds
• Support claims documentation, event chronologies, entitlement positions, and coordination with Legal on material disputes and contract interpretations
• Partner with Supply Chain and Project Management to align major subcontract and supplier obligations with prime-contract requirements
• Connect contractual events and changes with project cost, schedule, forecast, and monthly risk reporting
• Support final changes, releases, warranties, lien waivers, final account reconciliation, and other contractual closeout requirements
• Capture lessons learned and provide structured feedback to Sales, Estimating, Operations, Supply Chain, and Legal to improve future contract positions, pricing assumptions, and risk allocation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
• Five (5)+ years of experience in construction contract administration, commercial management, project controls, project management, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience supporting pre-award contract review and negotiation and administering commercial construction, electrical infrastructure, EPC, or design-build contracts
• Working knowledge of redlines, approvals, change orders, notices, claims, payment provisions, warranties, bonding, insurance, and contract closeout
• Ability to interpret complex contracts, identify commercial and operational implications, and translate requirements into clear actions for Sales and project teams
• Strong written communication, organization, negotiation, and cross-functional stakeholder-management skills
• JD (Juris Doctor) from a credited law school is preferred
• Experience within electrical construction, power, energy infrastructure, BESS, distributed generation, microgrids, EV infrastructure, switchgear, or other complex capital-project environments
• Experience supporting customer contract negotiations and administering EPC and/or design-build agreements
• Experience with major equipment procurement and supplier contracts
• Familiarity with AIA, Consensus, customized contract forms, and contract-management systems; CCM, CPCM/NCMA, PMP, or similar certification is a plus
