Senior Product Designer

Microsoft is a technology company whose Global Skilling Product Team builds skilling, upskilling, and reskilling products and experiences. The Senior Product Designer will lead end-to-end design for complex AI-related product experiences, influence product strategy through customer insights and systems thinking, and collaborate with engineering, product management, research, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design of complex product experiences from concept through delivery, ensuring solutions are intuitive, useful, accessible, and aligned with customer needs**.**
• Translate user research, data, and business strategy into clear product experiences and design recommendations
• Define end-to-end customer journeys, interaction models, information architecture that scale across experiences
• Solve ambiguous and complex design challenges through systems thinking, experimentation, prototyping, and iterative learning
• Influence product strategy and roadmap discussions by representing customer needs and identifying opportunities for innovation and investment
• Partner effectively with engineers, product managers, researchers, and other designers to deliver high-quality experiences
• Mentor and support other designers through critique, coaching, and sharing design practices that strengthen team outcomes

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design
  • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems)
• Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design
  • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems)
• 4+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process
• Experience applying user-centered design methods including research synthesis, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, usability evaluation, and accessibility practices
• Experience collaborating across design, product management, engineering, and research disciplines to deliver end-to-end experiences
• Experience designing complex platform, AI, enterprise, developer, productivity, or ecosystem experiences
• Experience contributing to or scaling design systems and reusable patterns
• Demonstrated ability to influence strategy and drive alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders
• Experience mentoring designers and fostering a culture of design excellence
