Azure DevOps Cloud Engineer

Confidential company is seeking a DevOps and Cloud Engineer to support enterprise cloud workloads. The role focuses on Azure DevOps CI/CD engineering, Azure resource governance, deployment automation, observability, incident resolution, compliance, cost optimization, and collaboration with cross-functional technical teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (YAML and Classic) for microservices and APIs
• Establish reusable pipeline templates, release standards, and guardrails for compliant, repeatable deployments
• Implement secure secrets and key management using Azure Key Vault and managed identities in pipelines
• Automate database deployment workflows (e.g., DACPAC/SQLCMD) and integrate migration steps into releases
• Enable blue/green or automated rollback strategies to minimize downtime and deployment risk
• Standardize provisioning and configuration across Dev/QA/Prod environments and codify configuration baselines
• Build monitoring dashboards and actionable alerts for pipeline and deployment health using App Insights and pipeline logs
• Uphold DevOps best practices tailored to a compliant, highly regulated enterprise environment
• Implement and maintain Azure services and governance standards (e.g., App Services, Function Apps, API Gateways/API Management, AKS) to support critical enterprise workloads
• Support identity and access management (e.g., Entra ID SSO and role assignments) adhering to least-privilege principles
• Ensure solutions are fault-tolerant and highly available; coordinate change requests and rollback procedures
• Monitor Azure services and application workloads to ensure high uptime and optimal performance; execute diagnostic deep-dives using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
• Triage production incidents, drive timely resolution, document root-cause findings, and participate in operational cycles and maintenance readiness checks
• Incorporate PCI or comparable regulatory requirements when evaluating system behaviors, logging practices, and system integrations
• Understand end-to-end data flows across complex, transactional processing systems and support the optimization of these integrations
• Contribute to cloud cost visibility and provide optimization recommendations, ensuring operational choices align with governance standards and budget goals
• Partner closely with architects, developers, DBAs, and system engineers to align deployments with secure network and identity configurations
• Communicate clearly and effectively with cross-functional stakeholders

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD (YAML & Classic)
• Expertise in Azure application deployment engineering (e.g., App Services, Functions, Containers, APIs)
• Proficiency in secure secrets and key management (Azure Key Vault, RBAC, managed identities)
• Experience with SQL deployment automation integrated directly into CI/CD pipelines
• Strong background in logging and observability (App Insights, pipeline logs, dashboards, alerts)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates)
• Advanced scripting and automation skills (PowerShell and/or Python)
• Proven experience in Azure administration and engineering within production environments
• Experience designing overarching CI/CD standards or DevOps frameworks tailored for microservices
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, AKS) along with registry-integrated build and release pipelines
• Familiarity with governance and compliance automation (Azure Policy, RBAC standards, pipeline guardrails)
• Direct experience working with PCI or similar rigorous compliance frameworks
• Exposure to cloud cost analysis and resource optimization in large-scale enterprise environments
• Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., AZ‐104, AZ‐305, AZ-400)
