Senior Business Analyst - Medicaid

Gainwell Technologies provides technology solutions that help healthcare clients improve the health and well-being of the members they serve. The Senior Business Analyst - Medicaid will lead business analysis activities, define and document requirements, improve business processes, validate deliverables, and support project planning and coordination for Medicaid-related technology initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Help coordinate a business analyst team's duties and activities on IT projects while mentoring newer team members through guidance and support
• Serve as a knowledgeable bridge between clients, project managers, and technical teams to define, document, and communicate business requirements and expected outcomes
• Work with clients to develop business specifications and requirements at the start of technical projects
• Analyze, design, document, and recommend improvements to business processes that support client technology goals
• Validate that requirements have been met through review and approval of testing results and deliverables
• Utilize analytical tools and basic SQL queries to analyze data, validate requirements, support testing, and quantify the anticipated impact of proposed solutions
• Partner with project managers to support project planning, status reporting, risk and issue tracking, stakeholder communications, and action item management
• Flex between business analysis and project coordination responsibilities as business priorities and project needs evolve

Requirements:

• 6 or more years of experience in a Business Analyst role
• Strong understanding of technology delivery concepts, including system configuration, development lifecycles, data interfaces, and batch processing
• Working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to write and execute basic queries for data analysis, validation, troubleshooting, and research
• Advanced proficiency with analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, and requirements-management tools, including Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platforms
• Strong client communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into actionable objectives and deliverables
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business process re-engineering capabilities
• Experience supporting project management activities, including project planning, status reporting, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and execution tracking
• Demonstrated interest in project management and a desire to grow into expanded project leadership responsibilities over time
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt between business analysis and project coordination responsibilities in a fast-paced client environment
• Strong executive presence and communication skills with the ability to engage business leaders, clients, and technical personnel
• A collaborative leader who motivates others to action and communicates complex business and technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner
• 3 or more years of Medicaid and Medicare experience
• Experience supporting State Medicaid programs, MMIS operations, or healthcare technology initiatives
• Experience serving as both a Business Analyst and project coordinator or junior project manager
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project delivery methodologies
• CAPM certification or interest in pursuing project management certification
