Lead Machine Vision Engineer

Capsa Healthcare is engineering better care through pharmacy automation systems and the software behind them. The Lead Machine Vision Engineer will own vision architecture, improve production-grade computer vision systems, and help drive innovation in healthcare automation technology.

Responsibilities:

• To own vision architecture, enhance production-grade computer vision systems, and lead innovation in pharmacy automation technology
• Advanced Python expertise with C++ experience for performance-critical applications
• Ability to develop maintainable, tested, version-controlled software following engineering best practices
• Experience training and maintaining detection/classification models
• Building annotated image datasets, evaluating model performance against operational metrics, and deploying GPU based inference solutions
• Strong understanding of OpenCV, image processing, camera calibration, distortion correction, and barcode/DataMatrix decoding
• Hands-on experience with industrial cameras, lenses, lighting, exposure settings, focus, depth of field, and motion analysis
• Ability to diagnose imaging issues and recommend hardware or configuration changes
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with networking diagnostics, packet analysis, and connectivity troubleshooting
• Integration experience using REST/gRPC and connecting on-premises systems with cloud environments such as AWS

Requirements:

• Strong Software Engineering Skills (Python and C++)

Practical Machine Learning and Computer Vision Expertise

• Experience training and maintaining detection/classification models.

Industrial Vision Hardware Experience

Linux, Networking, and System Integration Skills

• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.

• Integration experience using REST/gRPC and connecting on-premises systems with cloud environments such as AWS

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a comparable discipline
• 10+ Years of Engineering Experience in Production Machine Vision Systems
• Extensive engineering experience with machine vision or applied computer vision systems operating in live production environments, not just prototypes or research projects
