Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Spectrum & Ford is seeking an experienced and visionary AI Architect to design, build, and deploy enterprise-grade artificial intelligence and machine learning systems. The role defines end-to-end architectures for generative AI, predictive models, and LLM-powered applications, while leading governance, implementation, MLOps, performance optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Define the overall AI/ML system architecture, including data pipelines, feature stores, model training environments, and inference services
• Architect scalable end-to-end solutions using LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and fine-tuning frameworks
• Ensure AI systems meet high standards for latency, availability, scalability, throughput, and security
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies, tools, and frameworks to guide technology stack selection
• Establish enterprise AI standards, security guidelines, data privacy frameworks, and Responsible AI guidelines (bias detection, explainability, safety)
• Partner with security, risk, and compliance teams to ensure data protection and regulatory adherence (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)
• Mentor and guide machine learning engineers, data engineers, and software developers on architecture best practices
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Engineers, and DevOps to integrate AI capabilities seamlessly into core product offerings
• Establish MLOps standards for automated continuous integration, deployment, monitoring, and retraining (CI/CD/CT) of models
• Optimize model inference speed, resource utilization, and compute costs (GPU/TPU efficiency)
• Monitor model drift, performance metrics, and operational health in production environments
