Remote HR Project Manager

Sigma, Inc. is seeking an experienced HR Manager / Employee Relations Investigator for a remote contract opportunity. The role conducts objective workplace investigations, interviews employees and witnesses, analyzes facts, documents findings, and advises HR and business leaders on employee relations, compliance, and sensitive workplace matters.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough, objective, and defensible workplace investigations
• Investigate allegations involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace conduct, policy violations, ethics concerns, and employee complaints
• Conduct employee and witness interviews and gather relevant facts and documentation
• Assess credibility, analyze information, and determine appropriate findings
• Prepare clear, accurate, and well-documented investigation reports
• Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee matters
• Partner with HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, Legal, Labor Relations, Global Security, and business leaders
• Provide practical guidance to leaders regarding employee relations matters
• Assess potential HR and compliance risks and recommend appropriate courses of action
• Support fair and consistent resolution of workplace concerns
• Apply knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and workplace practices
• Maintain professional relationships while handling sensitive and potentially difficult situations
• Manage multiple investigations and employee relations matters while maintaining strong attention to detail

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, workplace investigations, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience conducting thorough, objective workplace investigations
• Strong interviewing and fact-finding skills
• Excellent analytical and report-writing abilities
• Knowledge of employment laws and HR policies
• Ability to assess credibility and make sound, objective judgments
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information professionally
• Strong employee relations and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to advise and collaborate with HR Business Partners and business leaders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and relationship-building skills
• Ability to balance business needs with HR compliance requirements
• Experience investigating harassment, discrimination, retaliation, workplace misconduct, ethics concerns, and policy violations
• Experience supporting manufacturing, production, distribution, or operational environments
• Experience working with hourly/non-exempt workforces
• Experience supporting unionized environments
• Experience with HR case management platforms such as HR Acuity, NAVEX, EthicsPoint, or similar systems
• Professional certifications in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Workplace Investigations, Conflict Resolution, or Employment Law
• Strong understanding of employee relations best practices and employment compliance
