DevOps Engineer (REMOTE)

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, supports KITS and its government customer. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and manage secure AWS and Azure cloud solutions with a security emphasis, integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and ensuring compliance. The role also involves monitoring vulnerabilities, responding to incidents, automating security processes, and managing cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing secure cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS
• Implementing security policies and best practices for cloud-based applications
• Collaborating with development teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline
• Monitoring systems for security vulnerabilities and conducting regular security audits
• Engaging in incident response activities and addressing security issues promptly
• Automating security processes and configuration management
• Implementing and managing AWS/Azure services and resources
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure security and compliance requirements are met

Requirements:

• This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited college or university
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering with a focus on security
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
• Experience with implementing security controls in cloud environments
• Strong knowledge of AWS services and hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Understanding of security best practices and common security threats
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to obtain public trust clearance
• Experience working in a federal government IT environment
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, FISMA, or NIST
• Experience with security assessment tools and vulnerability scanning
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• AWS Certified Security - Specialty certification or azure equivalent
• Experience with security incident response and forensics
