Software Engineer II, Full Stack (Digital Products - Service)

Scout Motors is an automotive company developing electric and range-extended rugged SUVs and pickup trucks. The Software Engineer II will build and enhance full-stack digital products for servicing and repairs, including technician tools, diagnostics, warranty processing, vehicle health monitoring, and service operations. The role involves developing, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting reliable, secure, and scalable software across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deliver new features and enhancements
• Develop and maintain software components across front-end and back-end systems
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across front-end and back-end systems
• Contribute to application reliability, performance, security, and scalability efforts
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to continuously improve code quality
• Support testing, deployment, and monitoring activities across the software development lifecycle
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and other Agile development activities
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve engineering

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, or similar role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, both independently and as part of a team
• Strong foundation in modern front-end development using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Experience developing backend services using Go, Java, Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails, or similar technologies
• Familiarity with building and maintaining APIs and services in distributed environments
• Working knowledge of databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and/or Redis)
• Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) concepts and single sign-on (SSO) platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, or Auth0
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently investigate and resolve technical issues
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing or automotive environment
• Experience building consumer-facing applications
• Familiarity with containerized applications and modern deployment practices
