WMG Finance Business Partner

Wellstar Health System is an integrated healthcare organization focused on improving the health and well-being of the people it serves. The Finance Business Partner advises operational, clinical, and executive leaders through financial planning, analysis, budgeting, reporting, and performance improvement recommendations. The role supports financial sustainability and strategic goals related to quality, growth, access, and patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes
• Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and operational decisions
• Prepare monthly financial reports and performance dashboards
• Analyze variances between actual, budget, and forecasted results
• Identify risks and opportunities impacting financial performance
• Serve as the primary finance liaison for assigned departments, clinics, service lines, or business units
• Collaborate with operational and clinical leaders to evaluate financial performance and resource utilization
• Translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations
• Support leadership in achieving operational, productivity, and financial objectives
• Analyze staffing, labor productivity, volumes, reimbursement, and expense trends
• Partner with leaders to identify cost reduction and revenue enhancement opportunities
• Support development of corrective action plans to address unfavorable variances
• Monitor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Prepare business cases for new programs, services, providers, capital investments, and facility expansions
• Conduct ROI, breakeven, and profitability analyses
• Evaluate physician recruitment and compensation financial impacts
• Support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic growth initiatives as needed
• Develop and maintain financial dashboards and management reports
• Conduct trend analysis, bridge analysis, and scenario modeling
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial data
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

Requirements:

• Bachelors Finance or Bachelors Accounting or Bachelors Other / Related Field or Masters Business Administration/Management
• Minimum 5 years progressive finance FP&A, healthcare finance, or business analysis experience
• Excel and Spreadsheet analysis High
• strong financial modeling and analytical skills High
• knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and provider productivity metrics Medium
• excellent communication and presentation skills Medium
• strong understanding of budgets, forecasting, and management reporting High
• CPA - Cert Public Accountant
• CHFP - Cert Healthcare Financial Prof
• Minimum 1 year experience within a health system, physician enterprise, ambulatory network, or hospital setting
• Minimum 1 year experience in supporting operational leaders and executive decision-making
