Senior Electrical Engineer – MV AI UPS Data Centers & Storage

ON.energy is setting the standard for large load interconnection with its patented AI UPS™ technology, enabling grid-safe data centers. The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System projects, leading battery sizing, BESS technology evaluation, inverter/PCS validation, and integration of EMS, Plant Controllers, and SCADA systems.

• Battery sizing and lifecycle modeling
• BESS vendor model review and validation
• EMS and Plant Controller integration
• Controls strategy validation
• Inverter/PCS modeling experience
• SCADA and operational analytics
• Python, VS Code, Jupyter Notebooks, Git

Requirements:

• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience, with a focus on battery systems, BESS vendor evaluation, inverter/PCS performance validation, and EMS or Plant Controller integration
• Deep knowledge of battery sizing, lifecycle modeling, controls strategy validation, and BESS vendor model review in utility-scale energy storage environments including experience with PSCAD and   MATLAB
• Proven ability to lead EMS and Plant Controller integration efforts, including SCADA configuration and operational optimization for BESS deployments
• Working knowledge of Python, VS Code, Jupyter Notebooks, and Git for engineering analysis and operational analytics
• Ability to coordinate effectively with EMS vendors, controls engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and optimized energy storage solutions
