Manager, Cloud Platform Engineering

Centene Corporation is a healthcare organization focused on connecting people to the care they need to live healthier lives. The Manager, Cloud Platform Engineering leads cloud platform engineering teams, oversees architecture and operational excellence, and drives cloud standards, automation, security, reliability, and performance across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Leads a team for the cloud services unit responsible for managing the cloud platform
• Partners closely with cloud & enterprise architecture teams to develop and enforce cloud standards, best practices, and roadmap capabilities
• Develops deep understanding in technical domain and demonstrates thought leadership in emerging areas
• Works with internal risk and information security teams to ensure that appropriate controls and security rigor are in place for cloud platforms
• Partners closely with application development teams to provide new platform service offerings to enable & support their success
• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for planning & executing on cloud platform architecture enhancements including network, security, and automation
• Acts as the owner for the reliability, availability, and performance of core cloud platform functions
• Manages department staff including hiring, performance management and career development to ensure alignment with defined goals
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards

Requirements:

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
• Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience
• Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position
• Knowledge of common infrastructure automation languages such as Shell Scripting, Python, PowerShell, etc
• Experience with networking, security concepts, troubleshooting and with observability systems (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch)
• Knowledge of serverless technologies such as Lambda, Google Functions or Azure functions, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
• Experience working inside of a container ecosystem such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience addressing technical and business issues
