OSINT Engineer (Media Intelligence)

Owlinkai builds intelligence platforms for collecting, processing, and analyzing complex data. The part-time, remote OSINT Engineer – Media Practice develops automated systems to track information ecosystems, verify media, and integrate media intelligence capabilities into Owlinkai’s platforms.

Responsibilities:

• This part-time remote OSINT Engineer – Media Practice role focuses on developing specialized intelligence systems for tracking information ecosystems, digital narratives, and media integrity
• The OSINT Engineer will design, develop, and maintain automated systems that collect, verify, and analyze open-source intelligence across global news feeds, broadcast media, and social platforms
• Daily responsibilities include engineering resilient data-harvesting pipelines, building tools for disinformation and coordinated behavior detection, and implementing automated media verification workflows such as geolocation, chronolocation, and metadata extraction
• The role involves close collaboration with software engineers and media domain experts to integrate OSINT capabilities into Owlinkai’s intelligence platforms, optimize ingestion performance, and ensure operational resilience in production environments
• The OSINT Engineer will also maintain operational security (OPSEC) protocols, document technical solutions, participate in code reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement of media intelligence workflows

Requirements:

• Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, web architecture, and robust coding practices
• Proven background in OSINT tradecraft, digital investigations, media forensics, or computational journalism
• High proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with modern scraping and automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Scrapy, Selenium, AsyncIO)
• Experience building and maintaining end-to-end data collection pipelines for large-scale, noisy, and unstructured media streams
• Familiarity with Natural Language Processing (NLP) or LLM integration for entity recognition, narrative clustering, and automated content enrichment
• Understanding of anti-scraping countermeasures, proxy rotation, and operational security best practices
• Exposure to graph or search databases (e.g., Elasticsearch, Neo4j, PostgreSQL) for relationship mapping and network analysis is an advantage
• Ability to collaborate within cross-functional technical teams, and communicate complex investigation methodologies clearly
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
