Environmental & Energy Engineer Intern

Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure Plc is hiring an Environmental & Energy Engineer Intern to support environmental permitting, energy reporting, compliance audits, and sustainability initiatives. The role also collaborates across teams to monitor requirements and improve internal processes.

Responsibilities:

• Environmental Permitting: Support the management of environmental and energy permits, coordinating communications and documentation with public authorities, including environmental agencies, hydrographic confederations and industry regulators
• Energy Management & Reporting: Assist with monthly reporting and data analysis related to electricity, natural gas and energy transportation, contributing to monthly closing activities and internal reporting processes
• Environmental Compliance & Audits: Help prepare documentation and gather information for internal audits, ensuring environmental and energy permits meet applicable requirements
• Sustainability & ESG: Support initiatives related to ESG requirements and the Equator Principles, gaining exposure to environmental and sustainability standards in the renewable energy industry
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with different teams to organize information, monitor compliance requirements and support the continuous improvement of internal processes

Requirements:

• Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related field
• Problem-solving oriented and strong analytical skills
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Proactiveness, self-efficiency, organizational skills, team working, discrete and ethical, initiative and easiness to learn
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (advanced Excel is a must)
• A strong interest in renewable energy, environmental management and sustainability
