Software Engineer, Monetization

Aura’s Monetization team builds and optimizes systems that convert, retain, and grow its customer base across web and mobile platforms. The Software Engineer will build customer-facing features, collaborate with cross-functional teams to run experiments and iterate on results, and use AI-assisted development tools while maintaining software quality.

Responsibilities:

• Aura's Monetization team drives revenue growth by building and optimizing the systems that convert, retain, and grow our customer base
• We own enrollment flows, paywalls, subscription management, reactivation experiences, and marketing integrations across web and mobile platforms
• You will build features that touch millions of customers and directly impact Aura's growth and revenue
• You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, Marketing, and Data teams to run experiments, ship quickly, and iterate based on results
• You will leverage AI-assisted development tools to ship features rapidly, while applying your own software expertise and judgment to ensure quality through application of best practices, robust testing, and appropriate guardrails

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping and maintaining products in production
• Full-stack experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React/TypeScript) and familiarity with back-end technologies (e.g., Node.js, GraphQL, REST APIs)
• Comfort working across the stack — you do not need to be an expert in everything, but you are able to contribute to frontend, backend, or mobile codebases as needed
• Experience with modern web tooling (bundlers, CI/CD, testing frameworks)
• Experience with analytics and observability tools for instrumenting features, debugging production issues, and understanding user behavior (e.g., OpenTelemetry, PostHog, SigNoz, Grafana, Datadog, or similar)
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote-first environment
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) and enthusiasm for integrating AI into your daily coding, debugging, and planning workflows
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience

• Experience with React Native or mobile app development
• Familiarity with subscription/payment systems or e-commerce flows
• Experience with A/B testing and experimentation platforms
• Experience with marketing tech integrations (e.g., Braze)
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and deployment pipelines (Terraform/HCL)
