Software Engineering Technical Leader

Cisco is a technology company whose Security Business Group provides global DNS-based services. The Software Engineering Technical Leader will lead development and maintenance of scalable DNS resolver backend software for Sovereign DC and FedRAMP services, operating highly transactional 24x7 production environments and supporting cloud security products.

Responsibilities:

• Building and sustaining DNS resolver software
• Operate the service
• Developing services at scale on BareMetal AWS and openstack
• Building backend software
• Developing complex solutions in C/C++ and Python
• Developing on Linux and in cloud environments (preferably AWS) and networking
• Configuration management and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Ansible, AWS, Openstack
• Agile development
• Automated testing and operations
• Systems and application security
• Monitoring and observability concepts

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience in building and running a highly transactional, 24x7 production environment
• Experience in developing complex solutions in C/C++ and Python
• Experience developing on Linux and in cloud environments (preferably AWS) and networking
• Experience in configuration management and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Ansible, AWS, Openstack
• Familiarity with Perl and/or Go
• Experience in Agile development
• Experience in Git
• Experience in automated testing and operations
• Experience with systems and application security
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability concepts
• BS/CS Degree
