Associate Product Manager - Automotive

Sharp Electronics Corporation USA is seeking an Associate Product Manager for its automotive group, which designs and manufactures display technologies for automotive applications. The role supports product planning and operations through inventory and production reporting, pricing, purchase coordination, supply chain logistics, and new product launches; the selected candidate will be employed and paid through a third-party staffing/vendor partner.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and input information for the monthly preparation of the IPSI
• Collaborate to present approved IPSI to Management. Coordinate with executive management on targets to be met, in order to issue final reports
• Work with management on fiscal business plan preparation to achieve BP metrics
• Coordinate approved product purchase authorizations to on-site and offshore factories
• Monitor product line inventory and purchases
• Update and maintain current product pricing programs
• Working knowledge of supply chain management. Work with logistics on a global basis to manage production location, point of sale, warehousing and logistics to maximize profit and minimize taxes, duties, and tariffs
• May interface with factories on technical, delivery, and quality issues
• Helps to coordinate new product introductions, track requirements for all validation builds with program manager(s) and factory. Work with factory to ensure order fulfillment and launch ramp up requirements are being met to ensure OEM milestones
• Attend and report on trade shows and seminars, including booth duty when necessary
• Supports calls with the Japanese factory
• Maintains NRE log and collaborates with accounting on issuance
• Interface with legal department on current and proposed legal agreements

Requirements:

• Familiar with Automotive business models and terminology
• BS or equivalent required
• Requires excellent writing & communication skills, extraordinary attention to detail and follow-up
• The ability to work independently, manage individual direct reports, as well as within a team
• Ability to respond appropriately and professionally to complex inquiries in a timely manner

• Prefer 5 – 7 years or more experience in automotive or electronics industry or related function
• Emphasis on automotive experience
• Fluent in Excel
• SAP experience preferred
• Japanese language skills preferred
