Senior Product Manager

Meritus Gas Partners is seeking a Senior Product Manager to set and execute enterprise product strategy for industrial gases. The role leads sourcing, supply agreements, pricing, analytics, risk planning, acquisition due diligence, and development of the product management function.

Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the enterprise product management strategy for industrial gases, align sourcing, pricing, portfolio priorities, and investment decisions with Meritus’ growth and profitability objectives
• Own executive-level negotiations and governance for producer supply agreements, including pricing, terms, volume commitments, supply access, and protections
• Establish standards and oversight for Meritus customer product supply agreements; ensure consistent execution and provide practical training for operating companies and employees
• Develop sourcing strategies by product and geography that optimize cost, capacity, logistics, reliability, and supplier diversification across the enterprise
• Anticipate market conditions, outages, allocations, and logistics constraints; lead enterprise supply-risk, crisis-response, and contingency planning
• Set supplier performance expectations and oversee contract compliance, renewals, strategic relationships, and issue escalation
• Partner with sales, finance, supply chain, and operating company leadership on demand forecasts, supply gaps, pricing architecture, margin expansion, and network optimization
• Sponsor evaluation of vertical-integration opportunities, including ASUs and new CO2 sources, and present investment recommendations to senior leadership; experience with onsite business economics is preferred
• Lead product and supply due diligence for acquisition candidates, identify enterprise risks and value-creation opportunities, and oversee supply onboarding and integration for acquired companies
• Build the product management function, including the anticipated future leadership and development of a Hardgoods Product Manager

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field
• 10 or more years of progressively responsible, directly relevant experience with a major industrial gas producer or distributor, including significant leadership experience
• Executive or senior leadership responsibility for gas sourcing, producer agreements, supply chain, product management, or pricing and margin management
• Established U.S. industrial gas relationships and deep working knowledge of producer capabilities, supply dynamics, commercial terms, and distribution economics
• Demonstrated success influencing decentralized businesses, leading enterprise initiatives, and translating strategy into measurable operating and financial results
• The successful candidate must independently evaluate complex contracts and investments, engage producers and senior business leaders, advise the CEO, and deliver results immediately
• Executive presence and the ability to influence the CEO, senior leadership, producers, and decentralized operating company teams
• Proven ability to negotiate and govern complex industrial gas supply agreements, including pricing, volumes, supply protections, escalators, and notice requirements
• Strong strategic planning, financial acumen, organizational leadership, and change-management capabilities
• Ability to build and lead a high-performing product management function as organizational needs evolve
• Advanced Excel for pricing, margin, financial, and scenario modeling
• Power BI and Power Query for data modeling, dashboards, and recurring analysis
• Industrial gas supply, demand, logistics, and network modeling
• Deep knowledge of U.S. atmospheric, CO2, helium, rare, and specialty gas supply chains
• Enterprise mindset with exceptional commercial judgment, strategic perspective, and a bias for action
• Analytical and decisive; turns complex market, contract, supply, and financial data into clear executive recommendations
• Independent, accountable, and persistent in driving cross-functional issues to resolution
• Credible executive communicator who builds alignment with producers, senior leadership, and decentralized operating teams
