Freelance Senior Production Designer Creative Quality Assurance

Scout Lab is hiring a Freelance Senior Production Designer to serve as the final quality-control checkpoint for its creative work. The role reviews digital and print deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and production readiness, while collaborating with design and project management teams and helping establish quality assurance standards.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct meticulous final reviews of creative deliverables across brand identity, websites, campaigns, presentations, social media, and print
• Identify even the smallest inconsistencies in typography, kerning, spacing, alignment, margins, grids, color, and formatting
• Ensure all work adheres to approved brand guidelines, design systems, and creative specifications
• Review layouts for visual consistency, hierarchy, balance, and precision across formats
• Flag errors clearly and provide specific, actionable feedback to designers before final delivery
• Review digital designs across desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints for visual accuracy and consistency
• Identify missing assets, incorrect dimensions, formatting issues, and inconsistencies between approved designs and final executions
• Review print materials for proper bleeds, crop marks, resolution, color modes, and production specifications
• Verify that final exports and production files meet technical requirements
• Ensure presentations, marketing collateral, and campaign assets are consistently executed across every touchpoint
• Serve as an independent final checkpoint before creative work is delivered to clients or released publicly
• Verify file naming, organization, export settings, version accuracy, and completeness of deliverables
• Catch typographical errors, missing content, incorrect formatting, and inconsistencies across assets
• Document issues clearly, prioritize corrections, and verify that changes have been implemented
• Help establish repeatable quality assurance checklists and production standards across the agency
• Partner closely with designers, creative leadership, and project managers to maintain an exceptional standard of execution
• Provide thoughtful, precise feedback without taking over creative direction
• Identify recurring production issues and opportunities to improve internal workflows
• Manage multiple projects and review cycles while meeting deadlines
• Bring a methodical, solutions-oriented approach to quality control

Requirements:

• You must have experience if digital and print
• 7+ years in design production, with deep digital and print expertise
• 7+ years of experience in production design
• An extraordinary eye for detail and an almost obsessive commitment to precision
• Deep technical expertise across both digital and print production
• Expert command of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
• Strong understanding of typography, layout systems, grids, color management, and production specifications
• Experience reviewing complex brand systems, websites, campaigns, and presentation materials
• The ability to spot subtle inconsistencies that others routinely overlook
• A meticulous, systematic approach to reviewing and verifying creative work
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines
• Confidence to flag errors in work created by senior designers and creative leaders
• Comfort working independently with globally distributed creative teams
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proven experience in high-level design production and quality assurance
• Demonstrated ability to review and prepare both digital and print materials
• Exceptional visual precision and technical production knowledge
• Strong time management and responsiveness to project deadlines

• 7+ years of experience in production design, ideally within a leading branding studio, creative agency, or design-led organization
• Experience with website QA, including Webflow or similar platforms, is a plus
• Agency or creative studio experience preferred
