Account Manager - Growth Markets

Zayo Group is hiring an Account Manager - Growth Markets to own sales and customer relationships across assigned State, Local, and Education (SLED) accounts. The role develops opportunities and sells Zayo’s connectivity and managed services while managing the customer lifecycle and sales pipeline.

Responsibilities:

• Generate sales revenue by actively promoting Zayo products and services to targeted Public Sector account modules, including E-Rate, cooperative agreements, and state contracts
• Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound engagement with a clear strategy for prioritizing accounts and opportunities
• Identify, initiate contact with, and qualify potential customers and sales opportunities across assigned Growth Markets accounts
• Present proposals and guide customers through the sales process using a consultative approach
• Maintain current business relationships with customers while identifying opportunities to protect and grow revenue
• Apply knowledge of customers, industry, procurement cycles, and Zayo services to achieve revenue objectives
• Analyze customer requirements to understand how Zayo products and services can be applied to meet customer needs and solve business problems
• Develop and maintain records of customer activity for reporting of sales, pipeline, and forecasts
• Track, analyze, and report on sales performance, pipeline, and forecasts in Salesforce and related reporting tools
• Provide accurate and timely information to management
• Coordinate closely with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained and revenue objectives are met
• Keep abreast of the competitive landscape and Growth technologies to best position Zayo in the marketplace
• Collaboratively work as part of a team while concurrently performing as an individual with minimal supervision

Requirements:

• a minimum of two (2) years of business/Public Sector sales experience with technology-focused products
• Ambitious, aggressive, and coachable
• Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships
• Strong financial acumen
• Quick learner who collaborates well with others
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Excellent skills working with Salesforce CRM and related sales reporting tools

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of personalities, show respect for others, and present information with effective communication and presentation skills
• High tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to work successfully in a matrix management model
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Bachelor's degree
• Preferred working knowledge of the E-Rate program and ability to align Zayo's services with funding cycles, RFP timelines, and eligible service categories
• Salesforce experience strongly preferred
• Willingness to learn Zayo's value proposition, products, and services
