Product Manager - MSI

MSI is a managing general agent that develops specialized insurance solutions and technology-enabled products across personal and commercial coverage markets. The Product Manager will support the development, launch, enhancement, and expansion of insurance products while analyzing performance, profitability, regulatory requirements, and market opportunities. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to improve growth and financial results.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Product Team, internal and external associates, and vendors to support introduction of new products, enhancements to existing products, and/or entry into new markets to reach company profit and growth targets
• Collaborate with business partners including Distribution, Actuarial, Claims, Operations, Technology, Compliance and Data teams on all product related revisions including new company initiatives
• Conduct competitive, market, and portfolio analyses to identify industry trends, emerging risks, and growth opportunities, and recommend strategic product, pricing, and coverage enhancements to improve profitability and market position
• Collaborate with Distribution stakeholders to evaluate agency performance, identify growth opportunities, and develop data-driven strategies that improve key business outcomes
• Define and execute product roadmaps aligned with company strategy, leading cross-functional initiatives and organizational change efforts to drive profitability, market expansion, and long-term business growth
• Monitor regulatory compliance and collaborate with other areas to ensure all regulatory revisions are implemented in a timely manner
• Apply mathematical and statistical techniques to analyze profitability and competitive position on a state and program basis, and work with relevant Team Members to make recommendations on what actions can be taken to improve product performance
• Review insurance company filings, in particular rate algorithms, underwriting guidelines, and forms, along with industry and regulatory changes to provide recommendations that will improve product launches, changes, and enhancements
• The Product Manager will be part of a small companywide team identifying and creating new products with profit and loss accountability for ongoing operations
• Analyze competitor offerings against MSI’s current offerings and partner and/or market needs to make recommendations on MSI strategic direction and approach
• Use Project Management techniques to drive implementation of new products and enhancements across all functional areas within the company
• Provide recommendations to Executives in formulating both product strategy and tactical execution and prioritization

Requirements:

• Deep insurance product expertise and strong commercial acumen
• Sound judgment and confident, data-informed decision-making
• Proven ability to apply AI tools and capabilities to improve productivity and business outcomes
• Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills
• Working knowledge of insurance product development, pricing, and regulatory filing processes
• Advanced analytical capabilities, including proficiency in Excel and SQL
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate insights into action
• Exceptional self-management, prioritization, and ability to manage multiple initiatives
• 5+ years of relevant experience in insurance product management, product development, or a related field
• Bachelor's degree required
