Azure Data & Integration Engineer (Informatica CDI / CAI)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data & Integration Engineer specializing in Informatica Cloud Data Integration (CDI) and Cloud Application Integration (CAI) with a Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines and API integration workflows, writing complex SQL queries, and executing deep root-cause analysis (RCA) on job failures or data anomalies. The ideal candidate combines strong technical troubleshooting skills with scripting expertise in Python or Windows environment (PowerShell/Batch) to automate and optimize enterprise data workflows.

 

Key Responsibilities

Integration & Data Pipeline Engineering

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain end-to-end data integration solutions using Informatica CDI (batch/ETL pipelines) and Informatica CAI (real-time/API-driven integrations).
• Integrate cloud and on-premises sources with Azure data platforms (Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage/ADLS).
• Develop and execute automation scripts using Python or Windows PowerShell/Batch to streamline pipeline execution, file management, and system tasks.

SQL & Data Querying

• Write, optimize, and debug complex, high-performance SQL queries (joins, CTEs, window functions, procedure logic) to extract, validate, and transform large datasets.
• Perform data profiling, target-to-source mapping, and dataset reconciliations across diverse source systems.

Monitoring, Production Support & Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

• Proactively monitor scheduled integration workflows and conduct thorough analysis on job failures to restore operational performance rapidly.
• Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) when data is missing, delayed, corrupted, or not arriving as expected—identifying upstream system issues, logic flaws, or payload drift.
• Maintain comprehensive RCA documentation and implement preventive controls (e.g., error-handling framework updates, automated alerts, data quality rules).

 

Qualifications & Skills

Required Experience & Skills

• Informatica IDMC Suite: (Number Of Year)+ years of hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting with Informatica CDI and Informatica CAI.
• Azure Cloud Ecosystem: Good working experience with Azure services (Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL / Synapse Analytics).
• Advanced SQL: Advanced knowledge of SQL query writing, performance tuning, and schema analysis across relational or cloud data warehouses.
• Production Support & RCA: Proven track record in operational support, job failure analysis, data lineage tracing, and complex RCA in production data environments.
• Scripting Expertise: Practical scripting experience in Python or Windows Scripting (PowerShell, Batch/Command CLI) for workflow automation and file handling.

 

Soft Skills & Process Knowledge

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical root causes to both business stakeholders and engineering teams.
