Job Description

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Salesforce Solution Engineer to support major enhancement, modernization, and maintenance initiatives for mission-critical applications, including PathNC and other Child Welfare program systems.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-scale solutions on Salesforce Government Cloud. This role requires a strong blend of solution architecture, hands-on Salesforce development, system integration, and stakeholder engagement experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery sessions with business stakeholders, product owners, and program leadership to gather and analyze requirements.
• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions aligned with business goals and platform best practices.
• Architect and implement integrations between Salesforce and external systems.
• Develop and customize Salesforce applications using:
• Apex
• Lightning Web Components (LWC)
• Salesforce Flows
• Salesforce APIs and Integrations
• Provide technical leadership for configuration, development, deployment, and release management activities.
• Review Salesforce seasonal releases (Spring, Summer, Winter) and assess impacts on existing implementations.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI-driven capabilities, automation, and intelligent workflows within Salesforce.
• Ensure compliance with platform governance, security standards, and public-sector regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of Salesforce development and solution engineering experience.
• Strong expertise with Salesforce Government Cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Lightning Platform, and Flow Builder.
• Experience designing and implementing complex system integrations.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, security, and platform governance.
• Experience conducting technical workshops, requirements gathering, and solution design sessions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Salesforce release management and platform upgrades.

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce Architect and/or Salesforce Platform certifications.
• Experience supporting State Government, Public Sector, Health & Human Services, or Child Welfare programs.
• Knowledge of case management, licensing, eligibility, or human services applications.
• Experience implementing AI-powered solutions within Salesforce environments.
