What You ll Own
Building and shipping new product features end-to-end across the frontend and backend
Major features from technical design through launch, in close partnership with other engineers and Customer
Success
Intuitive user experiences for complex, data-dense risk and compliance workflows
AI-powered features that automate historically manual compliance work
Performance, reliability, and architecture of the application as Kobalt scales, informed by direct work with
customers
Requirements
Must-Have
3+ years of software engineering experience building production web applications.
Strong experience building modern, interactive frontend applications and the backend systems that support them.
Excellent product and UX judgment, particularly for complex or data-dense applications.
Strong understanding of front-end architecture, application state, APIs, data modeling, and relational databases.
Ability to take a product problem from initial concept through technical design, implementation, and production.
High attention to detail and a strong bar for the quality, performance, and usability of what you ship.
Nice-to-Have
Experience building AI-powered product features
Experience working directly with customers to shape product direction
Experience owning a project end to end
A personable, customer-facing style, since much of Kobalt s work is product- and customer-heavy (strong
backend engineers without this are still a fit)
