Behavioral Health & Project Management Internship (Remote) – Summer 2027 (Undergraduate)

Molina Healthcare’s Office of the Chief Medical Officer internship supports the Mental Health Parity team’s compliance with state and federal MHPAEA requirements. The intern will assist with program monitoring, cross-functional collaboration, audit readiness, research, and development of tools and processes, while completing a high-value project.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Mental Health Parity Team to support enterprise compliance with state and federal Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA) laws
• Support program functions that promote monitoring of and compliance with MHPAEA
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders that are impacted by MHPAEA
• Improve scalability of the Parity Program
• Enhance audit and regulatory readiness across Molina markets
• Support research and the development of tools and processes that reduce the administrative burden on Subject Matter Experts
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, trade agencies, and other external supports as appropriate
• Identify and work on a high-value project over the duration of the internship to be implemented upon completion of the internship

Requirements:

• Candidate must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, should be a freshman or sophomore with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Candidate must possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
• Must possess clear and professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated and ability to develop relationships
• Good time management, organizational and interpersonal skills required
• Computer experience including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and experience with internet research
• Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and to comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
