Cloud Engineer

Gofer is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design, automate, and support secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for banking and financial services solutions. The role focuses on Terraform-based infrastructure, reliability, security, and automation, while supporting governance and audit requirements across engineering, security, data, and compliance teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise applications, data platforms, and analytics services
• Develop reusable Terraform modules for networking, compute, storage, databases, identity, and security services
• Establish Terraform standards for module design, versioning, remote state management, state locking, and environment configuration
• Integrate Terraform validation, security scanning, plan reviews, and controlled deployments into CI/CD pipelines
• Import existing cloud resources into Terraform and resolve configuration drift while protecting service availability
• Implement secure networking, private connectivity, encryption, secrets management, and least-privilege access controls
• Build resilient infrastructure with appropriate availability, backup, disaster recovery, and recovery testing
• Configure monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational dashboards to support reliability and incident response
• Support audit readiness through infrastructure documentation, change records, access controls, and traceable deployments
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize performance, capacity, and cloud costs
• Maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures

Requirements:

• 8+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering
• Extensive hands-on Terraform experience building and maintaining production infrastructure
• Demonstrated expertise in Terraform modules, providers, remote backends, state management, imports, and dependency handling
• Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
• Solid understanding of cloud networking including VPCs/VNets, subnets, routing, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and private endpoints
• Experience implementing IAM, role-based access, encryption, key management, and secrets management
• Experience integrating infrastructure as code into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for infrastructure automation
• Strong Linux administration and infrastructure troubleshooting skills
• Experience with monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery
• Understanding of change management, separation of duties, and audit requirements in regulated enterprise environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, security, and business teams
• Experience supporting banking, financial services, credit risk, commercial data, or analytics platforms
• Experience with HCP Terraform or Terraform Enterprise, including workspaces, private module registries, and policy enforcement
• Familiarity with Sentinel, Open Policy Agent, Checkov, or similar policy and infrastructure security tools
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and managed container platforms
• Knowledge of cloud landing zones, multi-account or multi-subscription environments, and centralized governance
• Experience supporting secure data pipelines, data warehouses, or enterprise analytics infrastructure
• Familiarity with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 control environments
• HashiCorp Terraform Associate or relevant cloud certifications
