Business Intelligence Analyst III

Sutter Health is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst III to solve complex business questions and turn data into actionable strategy. The role leads requirements gathering, develops analytical solutions and proofs of concept, presents recommendations to operational leaders, and mentors junior team members.

Responsibilities:

• An advanced analytical professional who exercises independent judgment to solve complex business questions
• Requires both subject matter and technical expertise
• As a deep domain subject matter expert, this role builds complex solutions, delivers actionable insights, and leads project teams to drive specific operational or financial decisions
• This position is an independent professional contributor within their respective department or business unit
• Bridges the gap between raw data and actionable strategy
• Focuses on leading business and technical requirements gathering, building rapid proofs-of-concept (POCs), and presenting data-driven recommendations to operational leaders
• Working with minimal oversight, this role applies advanced analytical skills to novel business problems where no clear procedure exists and mentors junior team members

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
• 6 years recent relevant experience
• Progressive experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related analytical role
• Proven experience independently solving complex business problems
• Strong experience building dashboards in a primary visualization tool (Tableau or Power BI)
• Experience writing advanced SQL queries for complex data exploration and extraction
• Experience leading small-to-medium analytical projects
• Understanding of statistical analysis and forecasting modeling concepts
• Excellent data storytelling and presentation skills; ability to influence non-technical stakeholders
• Strong ability to exercise independent judgment and tackle novel, ambiguous business questions
