Software Engineer

Thahlan Consulting is hiring a Software Engineer to build and maintain back-end services and APIs for its research platform and upcoming Arabic-first market terminal. The role focuses on secure, scalable data integrations and collaboration with product, data, and research teams to deliver reliable financial research and market analytics products.

Responsibilities:

• The Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain back-end services and APIs that power Thahlan Consulting’s research platform and upcoming Arabic-first market terminal
• Responsibilities include implementing robust, scalable, and secure server-side logic, integrating data sources and third-party services, and collaborating with product, data, and research teams to translate financial analysis requirements into technical solutions
• The role involves writing clean, well-documented code, participating in code reviews, optimizing performance, and contributing to architectural decisions
• The Software Engineer will also help improve development workflows, monitoring, and reliability to support a high-availability, data-intensive environment

Requirements:

• Candidates should possess strong foundations in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software design principles
• Candidates should possess skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, Go, or similar)
• Candidates should possess experience in Back-End Web Development, including building RESTful APIs, working with databases, and integrating external services
• Candidates should possess proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and applying design patterns to build maintainable, modular systems
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (required)
• Proven ability to design and build sophisticated, production-grade systems (e.g., real-time data platforms, high-availability back-end services)
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and deliver high-quality work to deadlines
• Arabic as a first language (native-level fluency required)
• Must be based in the United States or a GCC country
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial
• Familiarity with financial markets, trading infrastructure, or data-intensive applications is a plus but not required
• Gulf dialect preferred
