Vice President of Engineering

Belfius Private is hiring a Vice President of Engineering to lead engineering strategy, execution, and delivery across the organization. The role oversees distributed engineering teams, sets technical direction, and aligns software delivery with business and product goals while building engineering culture and ensuring secure, scalable, compliant technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

• This full-time, remote Vice President of Engineering role at Belfius Private is responsible for leading engineering strategy, execution, and delivery across the organization
• The role involves overseeing distributed engineering teams, setting technical direction, and ensuring high-quality software solutions that align with business and product goals
• Day-to-day activities include collaborating with product and business stakeholders, prioritizing engineering initiatives, and managing project timelines and resources
• The Vice President of Engineering will establish best practices for software development, drive process improvements, and mentor engineering leaders and team members
• Additional responsibilities include building a strong engineering culture, managing budgets and vendor relationships, and ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant technology solutions

Requirements:

• Strong Engineering Management skills, including strategic planning, organizational design, and overseeing large, distributed teams
• Proven Team Leadership capabilities, with experience in coaching, mentoring, performance management, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture
• Hands-on background in Software Development with modern architectures, frameworks, and tools, and the ability to guide complex technical decisions
• Demonstrated Project Management experience, including roadmap ownership, resource allocation, risk management, and delivery of large-scale initiatives
• Experience in Product Development, working closely with product and business stakeholders to translate customer needs into viable technical solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across executive, product, and operations teams in a remote environment
• Track record of building and scaling engineering organizations, including hiring, talent development, and succession planning
• Understanding of security, compliance, reliability, and scalability requirements in financial services or related regulated industries
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience working in or leading remote and multicultural teams, with strong time management and self-organization skills
