Senior Data Engineer

Pumex Computing, LLC is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to extend CRM data pipelines and build governed Snowflake warehouse layers and quality checks. The role supports trusted reporting, dashboards, and AI access to data while improving data integration, testing, monitoring, and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of our existing CRM-to-Snowflake pipeline and build new ones from other systems into Snowflake on AWS and/or Azure, with monitoring, recovery, and documentation others can run
• Help shape what replaces Tableau for our executive team. Partner with BI and business leaders to define the metrics that matter, evaluate reporting options, and build trusted dashboards on governed Snowflake data
• Extend the live Dynamics 365-to-Snowflake feed as CRM capabilities evolve, and bring data from additional business systems, including acquisitions, into a consistent reporting foundation
• Implement a bronze/silver/gold (medallion) architecture, with clear promotion rules, quality gates, and lineage
• Turn data models into working tables and views, including history handling that holds up in an audit
• Test and version the consumption side of our CRM data contract, in partnership with our CRM team, so source changes don't surprise downstream users
• Make data quality visible, with checks and reporting the business can understand
• Enable governed access for dashboards, reporting, and AI assistants, with role-based controls suited to regulated data
• Share what you know, helping early-career colleagues learn through real, reviewed work

Requirements:

• 5+ years in data engineering, with strong SQL and working fluency in Python
• 2+ years running a cloud data warehouse in production, ideally Snowflake (ingestion and transformation features, access control, warehouse sizing, cost management)
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to speed up data engineering or reporting work, with a clear approach to validating generated SQL, Python, and dashboard logic
• Data modeling you can implement and defend, including dimensional design and history handling
• Experience building medallion (bronze/silver/gold) or equivalent layered architectures (e.g., raw/staging/marts) with quality gates and lineage
• Hands-on cloud experience on AWS and/or Azure, including orchestration and serverless functions
• Git, CI/CD, and automated testing as normal practice
• Care with sensitive and regulated data: access control and auditability as design constraints
• Clear communication with business stakeholders, including the ability to push back with evidence
• A habit of documenting what you build
• Change-data-capture ingestion from CRM or ERP systems (Dynamics 365 or Dataverse a plus)
• dbt or similar transformation tooling
• Experience building governed dashboards and replacing legacy BI tools
• Familiarity with Snowflake Cortex or MCP-style connectors for AI access to data
• Healthcare, credentialing, assessment, or nonprofit experience
