Thriving Center of Psychology is adding Licensed Mental Health Counselors to our New York practice. The schedule runs four days in our Midtown and Soho offices and one day from home. You are employed, not contracted, with a salary and benefits attached.
An active New York LMHC licence is required. Diagnostic privilege preferred. We are unable to accept candidates still working toward licensure at this time.
Most counseling jobs in this city pay per session on a contract basis. The session happens, you get paid. It does not happen, you do not. Nobody is around to talk it through either way.
You are on payroll. A salary that lands whether the week was full or light, health coverage, retirement, and time off that is genuinely paid.
Clients are routed to you. Nothing to market, no directory profile to maintain, no gap between finishing onboarding and having a caseload.
Consultation sits in the calendar every week. It is part of your job, not something you find time for after hours.
We cap caseload volume at a level counselors can hold for years. Burnout is a staffing problem and we treat it as one.
Hybrid work schedule in one of our two Manhattan offices, so the week has both people and quiet in it.
Your first weeks are structured. Professional photography, a written clinical profile, a place on our website, and regular check-ins while you settle.
See adults individually, in the office and over video.
Work anxiety, mood, life transitions, identity and stress that has stopped being manageable.
Hold a clear theoretical frame and be able to defend it in consultation. Technique without formulation does not go far here.
Where diagnostic privilege applies, carry diagnostic responsibility for your own clients.
Write notes inside our turnaround window.
Bring cases to weekly group consultation and contribute to your colleagues' cases.
A salary of $80,000 to $105,000 per year, plus a performance bonus opportunity.
Full benefits: health, dental, vision, and 401(k).
A yearly CEU stipend, plus gym and fitness reimbursement.
Minimal paperwork: no insurance billing and no collections to chase.
Collaborative, weekly group case consultation plus one-on-one clinical support.
Standout onboarding and a real clinical community.
Two Manhattan offices, in Midtown and Soho, with a hybrid schedule.
Active, clear New York LMHC license (diagnostic privilege, preferred)
Master's degree in mental health counseling or a closely related field.
At least one year of independent outpatient counseling with adults.
Available for a 40 hour week, working toward 27 sessions.
Comfortable holding a full adult caseload.
Experience delivering counseling both in person and by telehealth.
