Director Project Management

Decision Science Advisors (DSA) is an applied AI and data advisory firm serving private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies. The Director Project Management leads complex, multi-stream AI and data initiatives, overseeing planning, governance, budgets, timelines, stakeholder communication, and delivery teams. The role also develops delivery practices, supports proposals, and mentors project managers and analysts.

Responsibilities:

• The Director Project Management is a full-time remote role responsible for leading complex, multi-stream AI and data initiatives across private equity portfolio companies
• This role oversees project and program planning, defines scope and milestones, manages budgets and timelines, and coordinates cross-functional teams including data science, engineering, and business stakeholders
• The Director establishes and maintains project governance, tracks risks and dependencies, and ensures clear communication of progress, issues, and decisions to sponsors and executive stakeholders
• Day-to-day responsibilities include setting delivery standards, optimizing processes, facilitating stakeholder workshops, managing vendor and partner relationships, and driving adoption of project management best practices
• The role also contributes to methodology development, supports business development efforts with project plans and proposals, and mentors project managers and analysts to build a strong delivery organization

Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise in Project Management and Program Management, including leading multi-phase, cross-functional initiatives
• Strong Budgeting and financial management skills to plan, track, and optimize project and program costs
• Proven Team Leadership experience, with the ability to manage, coach, and motivate distributed teams and stakeholders
• Experience in Process Improvement, implementing scalable frameworks and continuous improvement across delivery operations
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills, with comfort presenting to executive audiences
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, data/technology, or a related field
• Background in consulting, private equity, technology, or data/AI-driven environments is highly beneficial
• advanced degree or PMP/related certification is a plus
