Project Manager – Conveyor & Material Handling Services

Reliable Precision Alignment (RPA) provides conveyor and material handling services to distribution and fulfillment centers. The Project Manager oversees projects from customer request and estimating through scheduling, execution, and closeout, coordinating technicians, customers, suppliers, and logistics while managing safety, costs, and communication.

Responsibilities:

• Develop scopes and estimates. Review customer requests, drawings, photos, and field findings; coordinate site visits when needed; and account for labor, materials, equipment, travel, and project requirements
• Maintain estimate quality. Prepare clear, accurate proposals, participate in RPA’s two-person review process, and follow up on estimates, approvals, and purchase orders
• Plan work from start to finish. Establish schedules, milestones, staffing needs, downtime windows, site access requirements, and customer points of contact
• Coordinate field resources. Work with leadership and logistics support to align technician skills and availability, travel needs, tools, materials, rentals, and deliveries
• Ensure job readiness. Confirm parts, equipment, safety documentation, and customer requirements are addressed before crews arrive
• Support technicians during execution. Communicate expectations, monitor progress, help resolve technical and operational issues, and escalate concerns promptly
• Own customer communication. Provide timely updates, communicate delays or changes early, and maintain professional relationships that lead to repeat business
• Control scope and costs. Monitor labor, travel, material, and equipment expenses; obtain required approvals for changes; and protect project profitability
• Reinforce safety and accountability. Ensure work follows RPA policies and customer requirements, including PPE, lockout/tagout, job hazard analyses, and required training
• Complete project closeout. Verify signed work orders, before-and-after photos, technician notes, testing results, outstanding deficiencies, and information needed for accurate invoicing
• Keep project records current. Maintain schedules, tasks, communications, and documentation in RPA’s systems, including Asana, QuickBooks, Slack, and Clockify
• Improve how we operate. Identify ways to reduce unnecessary travel, delays, rework, and return visits while maintaining quality

Requirements:

• Experience managing projects, maintenance operations, field service, or industrial installation work
• Working knowledge of conveyor systems, material handling equipment, industrial maintenance, or related mechanical systems
• Ability to develop realistic scopes, labor estimates, schedules, and budgets
• Experience coordinating technicians, contractors, vendors, and customers across multiple active jobs
• Strong written communication and attention to detail, including accurate estimates, work orders, and completion reports
• Sound judgment when priorities change, equipment fails, or customer needs become urgent
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, make decisions within your authority, and raise issues with clear recommendations
• Comfort using project management software, spreadsheets, and digital communication tools
• General knowledge of conveyor installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, commissioning, or decommissioning
• Amazon RME, fulfillment center, distribution center, OEM, or systems integrator experience
• A background as a maintenance manager, field service manager, lead technician, or industrial project manager
• Familiarity with purchasing, equipment rentals, technical drawings, and bills of materials
• PMP certification, relevant technical training, or equivalent practical experience
• Military leadership and logistics experience are valued
