Job Title: Onsite Technical Support Engineer / Desktop Support Engineer

Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Duration: 4-6 Months (Extendable)

Work Mode: Onsite

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Onsite Technical Support / Desktop Support Engineer to provide end-user IT support and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues. The candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on technical assistance to employees and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide onsite technical support and desk-side assistance to end users.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, monitors and other IT peripherals.
• Install, configure and maintain Windows operating systems and software applications.
• Handle user account setup, password resets and access-related issues.
• Troubleshoot basic LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN and connectivity issues.
• Support Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, Teams and other business applications.
• Manage IT tickets and ensure timely issue resolution.
• Assist with hardware deployment, installation, upgrades and replacement.
• Support employee onboarding and offboarding activities.
• Coordinate with remote IT teams for escalated technical issues.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.

Required Skills

• Experience in Desktop Support / Onsite Technical Support / IT Helpdesk.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS (Windows 10/11).
• Hands-on experience with laptops, desktops, printers and peripherals.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Outlook and Teams.
• Basic networking knowledge (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, TCP/IP).
• Experience with Active Directory and user account management.
• Familiarity with IT ticketing tools and incident management.
• Good communication and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Intune and SCCM.
• Experience with hardware installation and configuration.
• ITIL or IT support process knowledge.
• Experience working in an enterprise IT support environment.
