Portfolio Focus: Marketing Technology, Portfolio Planning, Technology Enablement, Operational Governance, and Cross-Functional Delivery
We are seeking an experienced Portfolio & Technology Manager to coordinate a portfolio of Marketing Operations and technology initiatives. This role connects business priorities with technology planning and delivery, helping teams prioritize demand, manage dependencies, establish ownership, and achieve measurable business outcomes across platforms and capabilities.
The individual will provide portfolio-level planning, governance, and execution oversight across business, product, analytics, technology, and vendor teams. Responsibilities include maintaining an integrated roadmap, surfacing resource and delivery trade-offs, coordinating technology readiness, and providing leadership with clear visibility into progress, risks, decisions, and expected value.
The role partners with accountable business and technical owners rather than replacing their decision-making authority. The ideal candidate combines portfolio discipline, technology fluency, and practical delivery leadership. They can translate complex technical topics into business implications, bring structure to ambiguous work, and align stakeholders around priorities, accountability, and sustainable operating models without being tied to a single platform or implementation.
Translate business objectives into a coordinated portfolio of technology initiatives, capability improvements, and operational priorities.
Maintain an integrated portfolio roadmap showing milestones, sequencing, cross-platform dependencies, and critical delivery commitments.
Coordinate demand and capacity discussions across Marketing, Digital, Product, Analytics, technology, and vendor teams.
Facilitate portfolio reviews and recommend prioritization based on business value, readiness, risk, dependencies, and available resources.
Oversee delivery commitments across initiatives, resolve cross-team blockers, and escalate trade-offs requiring leadership decisions.
Maintain a centralized portfolio record covering:
Priorities and approved decisions
Planning assumptions and constraints
Portfolio and technology risks
Issues and resolution plans
Cross-initiative and platform dependencies
Business outcomes and success measures
Governance requirements and approval status
Actions, accountable owners, and due dates
Document decision rationale, accountable approvers, business impacts, and follow-up commitments.
Maintain portfolio RAID logs and escalation pathways, highlighting risks that affect multiple initiatives or shared platforms.
Align stakeholders on portfolio objectives, scope boundaries, ownership, and the impact of proposed changes to priorities or commitments.
Map stakeholders and accountable business, platform, technology, and vendor owners across the portfolio.
Define roles, responsibilities, decision rights, handoffs, and escalation paths across planning, delivery, and ongoing operations.
Identify ownership gaps, overlapping responsibilities, and competing priorities; facilitate agreements with the appropriate decision-makers.
Establish repeatable engagement and support practices so teams understand commitments, upcoming changes, and ongoing ownership.
Partner with business, technology, and vendor leads to:
Assess demand, delivery options, and implementation readiness
Define deliverables, acceptance criteria, and accountable owners
Align delivery estimates, milestones, and resource commitments
Track commitments and escalate scope or delivery gaps
Coordinate technology readiness across:
Business requirements and solution alignment
Integration and data dependencies
Testing, access, and required approvals
Release readiness and operational handoff
Translate technical blockers and proposed changes into portfolio impacts, options, and decisions for business leaders.
Coordinate documentation and adoption of:
Platform ownership and lifecycle practices
Data definitions, quality expectations, and stewardship responsibilities
Technology review and approval processes
Shared workflow, access, and change-control requirements
Facilitate alignment on business capabilities, information flows, and governance requirements across connected platforms.
Coordinate reviews with architecture, security, risk, compliance, and data stakeholders while preserving their approval authority.
Track approval conditions, outstanding requirements, and their impact on delivery sequencing and operational readiness.
Develop coordinated communication and adoption plans across the technology portfolio.
Coordinate training, support resources, readiness activities, and concise stakeholder updates with business and platform owners.
Assess cumulative change impacts, competing releases, and adoption barriers; recommend practical mitigation actions.
Track business readiness and adoption feedback to support successful releases and sustained use of technology capabilities.
Establish a repeatable approach to assessing portfolio health, coordinating operational improvements, and sustaining technology outcomes across three areas:
Portfolio Visibility & Outcomes
Maintain visibility into initiative health, milestone confidence, dependencies, and expected business outcomes.
Partner with accountable owners to define success measures, identify available baselines, and track progress against agreed targets.
Provide leadership reporting focused on outcomes, delivery confidence, resource constraints, and decisions needed.
Operational Risk & Stabilization
Coordinate response and improvement plans for recurring platform, workflow, access, or service issues affecting business operations.
Align business and technical owners on impact, remediation priorities, accountable actions, and escalation needs.
Track corrective actions and business readiness while technical teams retain responsibility for incident resolution and solution implementation.
Technology Lifecycle & Continuous Improvement
Identify legacy dependencies, duplicated capabilities, and process gaps that create cost, complexity, or delivery risk.
Coordinate improvement and transition roadmaps with platform owners, including sequencing, support readiness, and business continuity considerations.
Capture lessons learned and embed repeatable planning, governance, and operational handoff practices across the portfolio.
