Perform functions to train and mentor individuals in the assigned area to become translators and translate Scripture into text manuscripts;
Check manuscripts for accuracy, guided by precedent and working within the limits of established policies.
Consult with field partners and project management in the planning and development of Bible translation programs
Training and development of the translation team, helping them to achieve and maintain a high quality of translation.
Verify the quality of translation manuscripts and/or recordings/videos before publication and report accordingly.
Development and mentoring of future quality assurance personnel, both for Seed Company and other partner organizations.
Plan, prepare, and participate in translator training workshops and other training activities.
Assist and support translation teams in developing reference materials and other translation helps.
Write reviews, research papers, and reports for review by consultants, translators, and others with an end to the furthering of quality assurance in Bible translation.
Coaching and consulting with Seed Company-supported field partners in the development and oversight of localized quality assurance efforts.

Requires an MA or higher degree in at least one relevant field, e.g., theology, Biblical languages and exegesis, linguistics, or cross-cultural studies.
Translation Consultant Certification, through Seed Company or another FOBAI partner organization
Minimum 3 years of experience in exegetical analysis, translation, and cross-cultural orientation.
Requires intimate knowledge of the Bible.
Able to hold a passport in order to visit necessary countries
