Staff Backend Engineer

Role Overview

• Collaborating across disciplines to test hypotheses and make a difference to customers.
• Working in a squad alongside product managers, marketers, researchers, designers, and engineers.
• Building and supporting particular parts of Monzo.
• Joining collectives doing innovative work including machine learning and AI.

Requirements

• Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product.
• Product mindset: care about customer outcomes and make data-informed decisions.
• Comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity.
• Interested in distributed systems and writing resilient software.
• Experience with strongly-typed languages (Go, Java, C, Scala etc.).
