Decipher system requirements, design hardware architecture, Liase with a number of teams to define the control strategy of our energy systems.
Review load profiles, communication specification and define the needs of the energy systems and how they need to perform in the over all grid applications.
Codevelop the communication architecture that will be used from a multiple of components so they can intercommunicate.
Define the working scenarios of the units and their implementation and codevelop the software needed to control them in any application or scenario.
Define the simulation needed for these projects and the control implementation in a simulation environment. Define HIL requirements and testing.
Requirements
Diploma/MSc University Degree in Electrical Engineering (energy sector or energy systems).
At least 2 years of experience in electrical infrastructure design (preferably in Energy Storage Systems).
Electrical design for low voltage and grid applications.
Understanding of IEEE/IEC/UL standards.
Knowledge on AC/DC and DC/DC converters.
Familiarity with power systems modelling & simulation (MATLAB, SIMULINK, P-SPICE).
Fluent use of English language.
Ability to work independently, and communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
Post-graduate Degree (PhD) on Electric Power Systems will be considered an asset.
Familiarity with high power battery systems, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). renewable technologies.
Familiarity with microgrids, grid interconnection, autonomous systems.
Knowledge of diesel engines & OBD communication protocols.
