Collaborate with IT leaders, other Enterprise Domain Architects and leaders in the business to document IT capability requirements (strategic) as part of annual/on-going planning and governance.
Deliver Enterprise IT strategic roadmaps for Retail, eCommerce and Direct To Consumer channels (3+ year forward looking view) that are focused on technology capabilities for Business, Information (data) and Technology solutions.
Ensure that roadmaps reflect invest/divest, retirement, and consolidation strategies for systems globally and that industry best practices and benchmarks are incorporated into deliverables.
Ensuring that solution design is aligned with the target domain architecture and business roadmaps.
Lead and deliver enterprise evaluations and analyses that adhere to established global IT project and requirements management methodologies, governance/check-point, release management, and tools standards for approved projects requiring IT solutions.
Partner with IT functions and their solution architects to design integrated IT solutions (including the build vs. buy decision) that translate business capability requirements and adhere to established global IT technology standards (infrastructure, application, integration, data).
Provide Architecture consulting to solution architects within delivery/execution teams (design, build/test, conversion/cutover) for business and technical projects across the globe.
Provide analysis and recommendations, via benchmarks and external industry point of view, on enterprise department performance for “Run and Maintain”.
Support IT and business leaders with technology advisory services for engaging with the business to “solve” business problems via technology and process innovation relative to IT capability requirements.
Act as informal mentor and coach to Solution Architects within other IT teams.
Contribute and represent Retail and Omni-Chanel at the IT Architectural Board.
Work directly with external vendors and advisory agencies to bring relevant best practices to the Enterprise Architecture team.
Ideal candidate should have deep understanding and experience in cross-channel architecture in eCommerce, Retail Merchandising, Planning and Allocation, Order Management and Point of Sale within an Omni-Channel brand or retailer.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline/experience preferred
Minimum 5+ years of IT experience in an architecture role responsible for both business systems support and the successful delivery and deployment of IT technology-based solutions
Well-versed in Enterprise Architecture, including network, data, application, system, and integration architecture.
TOGAF Certification or other architecture professional certification a plus
Apparel experience strongly desired, particularly with retail or wholesale.
SAP Retail or equivalent Retail Merchandising System experience preferred.
Hybris, ATG, Sterling or other headless eCommerce platforms experience preferred.
Point of Sale and other Retail System implementation experience preferred
Understanding of technology directions, trends and strategic business impacts related to the retail industry.
Proficiency in process management, technology evaluation, project management and business intelligence.
Familiarity with the balanced scorecard concept, IT standards such as ITIL and COBIT and compliance topics such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Payment Cards Industry (PCI) standards are preferred.
Experience leading systems implementations to a successful conclusion.
Clear understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and project and business process management methodologies and tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
Ability to serve as a change agent and influence business direction.
Ability to work effectively in a global and matrixed environment.
