About this role
Role Overview
- Provides leadership and counsel to Xcel Energy management on legal, business, legislation, regulation and strategic matters.
- Prepares contracts, agreements and other documents for business transactions.
- Represents Xcel Energy in courts, regulatory agencies and other adjudicatory or adversarial proceedings.
- Manages a team of attorneys within area of expertise.
- May act as a primary point of contact for business areas.
Requirements
- J.D. degree from ABA accredited law school;
- Licensed to practice, or able to be licensed to practice on reciprocity within a reasonable timeframe of accepting the position, in the state where the position is located.
- 10 or more years of practice in corporate law department, law firm, government practice or equivalent experience.
- Leadership experience required.
- Utility Experience or heavily regulated industry
