Help maintain the automated and scalable accounting function that produces accurate monthly Management Reports within 5 days of the end of the month.
Revenue reconciliation and accounting: Investigate revenue entries, perform reconciliations, follow up with Middle Office and trading teams as relevant to substantiate different revenue streams and making sure the revenue is reported accurately within the finance system.
Optimise all reconciliations of revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities and equity, making sure 100% accuracy of the financials that are understood and explainable.
Wintermute Ventures accounting, valuations and monthly reconciliations.
Perform net capital calculations for the US broker dealer entity making sure the entity complies with the relevant FINRA rules.
Group accounting including intercompany reconciliations.
Being a key point of contact for external auditors working on the annual group audits covering multiple entities.
Oversee direct and indirect tax computations and reporting.
Design and automate reporting, both internal management reporting and external reporting to trading counterparties, investors, authorities, etc.
Manage periodic processes around company equity.
Produce error-free ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
Scenario modelling
build models to perform cost-benefit or similar analysis to decide on optimal outcome.
Take ownership of delivery of broader finance driven projects to improve control and inefficiencies.
Requirements
BSc in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field with a significant quantitative element
Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with minimum 5 years experience. Experience in a high-performance environment; experience working in trading companies/hedge funds or similar would be an advantage.
Advanced Excel skills.
Proficiency with NetSuite is desirable.
Experience managing projects and scaling finance operations, cooperating with cross-functional teams across a wide range of functional areas (Traders, Middle Office, Operations, etc.)
Have an owner mentality and be proactive: focus on the ultimate result for the company (short and long-term growth, capital and cost optimization).
Problem solving mentality: to assess, measure and analyse problems, define a relevant solution (incl. automation), review and test before implementation.
Experience with the best-in-class automation systems and functions where scalability is driven by technology, rather than headcount and manual work.
Able to understand the bigger picture and be very hands-on and practical. Design processes from scratch and break down projects into small executable steps (and execute these steps).
