Act as a hands-on technical lead for the squad, contributing to code (Kotlin/Spring Boot/React), reviewing PRs, and driving architectural decisions.
Ensure the reliability and scalability of our client-facing integration layer (SDKs, APIs, SSO).
Participate in the on-call rotation and lead incident response for the team’s services, ensuring high availability for our clients.
Champion and drive engineering best practices.
Manage a small team of engineers; responsible for 1:1s, performance feedback, and career growth planning.
Foster a strong culture of ownership where engineers feel empowered to deliver high-quality work.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align individual goals with company objectives.
Collaborate with Product Management to estimate complex integration projects and establish realistic delivery timelines.
Serve as a technical voice in conversations with enterprise clients when deep technical expertise is required (e.g. integration scoping).
Own the delivery process for the team, ensuring smooth sprints and predictable release cycles and on-time delivery of initiatives.
Requirements
5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong background in full-stack development.
1-2+ years of experience in a leadership capacity (e.g., Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Engineering Manager).
Proven track record of balancing hands-on coding with coordination or leadership duties.
Experience working with external client integrations, APIs, or SDKs in a SaaS environment.
Experience working with distributed/remote teams.
Technical Proficiency: Strong grasp of software architecture, REST APIs, and modern cloud infrastructure. capable of deep-diving into code to unblock the team.
AI-Augmented Development: Familiarity with AI-assisted/agentic coding workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor). You view these tools as a "force multiplier", but maintain the rigour to audit and review every line of generated code.
People First: A genuine interest in coaching and mentoring engineers to help them improve their craft.
Customer Focus: Understanding of the constraints and requirements of enterprise clients (Security, SLAs, Compliance).
Communication: Ability to translate technical complexity into clear updates for stakeholders and non-technical partners.
Operational Excellence: Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and managing production environments.
