Principal Consultant, Data Architecture

Role Overview

• As Principal Consultant, Data Architecture you act as the technical lead in complex data and analytics projects.
• You design and take responsibility for end-to-end enterprise data architectures.
• You provide technical leadership to teams and serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients and internal stakeholders.
• You ensure enterprise data and analytics solutions are scalable, secure, and operationally ready.
• You translate business requirements into robust technical target architectures and plan their implementation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in enterprise data architecture, data integration, data engineering, or analytics
• Experience leading enterprise data architecture workstreams or technical teams
• Strong client-facing and consulting experience in complex enterprise environments
• Solid expertise in modern data architectures, in particular:
• Data Mesh / Data Fabric / Data Lake / Data Warehouse architectures
• Principles of modern data architecture design
• Integration patterns for batch and streaming data
• Data platform, DevOps, deployment, and security architectures
• Analytics and AI enablement architectures
• Practical experience with cloud data platforms, e.g.:
• Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure Synapse / Microsoft Fabric
• Excellent SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cosmos DB, MongoDB, InfluxDB)
• Good understanding of API-based and event-driven architectures
• Experience designing and overseeing enterprise data migration programs (including mapping, transformation rules, data quality measures, etc.)
• Experience with data pipelines, orchestration, and automation
• Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and production-ready deployments
• Understanding of distributed systems; Docker / Kubernetes experience is an advantage
• Strong understanding of data management and governance principles, in particular:
• Data quality, metadata, lineage, master data management
• Data management software and tools
• Security, access, and compliance requirements
• Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Fluent German (minimum C1) for client communication in the German-speaking market
• Very good English skills
• Willingness to travel for project work
